Frequently asked questions about services.
Does my private health insurance cover the treatments?
Will my private health insurance cover the treatments? Most private health funds, including AHM, Australian Regional Health Group, Australian Unity, BUPA, CBHS, HCF, NIB, and Medibank, provide a significant refund for your acupuncture consultations. Additionally, some health funds may also cover a portion of your herbal medicine expenses.
What is the mechanism by which acupuncture treatment alleviates pain?
Classical Chinese Medicine theory suggests that pain arises from two main factors: Qi blockage and insufficient nourishment to the affected area. The reasons for these issues can range from external injuries and internal imbalances to chronic diseases. In your initial sessions, we may concentrate on providing temporary pain relief, followed by a focus addressing the underlying causes for lasting benefits.
How many sessions will I require?
This will be assessed on an individual basis, and a customized treatment plan can be discussed during your initial consultation.
Can I have acupuncture if I am scared of needle?
Acupuncture is frequently less painful than anticipated; however, some individuals, particularly those with a fear of, children, or those with compromised immune systems, may prefer non-needle options. Alternatives to traditional acupuncture include laser acupuncture and tension massage. Other treatments on meridian theory are Tui Na, cupping, acupressure, Gua Sha, and moxibustion.
